This half term, we are learning to be Cryptographers. We will use our computing lessons to learn how to crack codes and how to keep our passwords secure to help us stay safe on line.
Check out our photographs. We learned how to write our names using semaphore.
We really enjoyed our cross curricular lessons about Maths and Football. Our coaches were very impressed at the speed of our calculations and mental maths 💪
Have a look at the photos below of us choosing our dream teams.
The children of 5M have all been given updated reading records and their new home reading book to go home. At parents' evening, you will receive an information pack about Maths and English in year five. This will include examples of questions you can ask your child about the book they are reading.
In year five, the children can change their own books when they return them - I will advise them of when the suite is free each day but it will probably be during playtimes.
Could all children remember to bring in something to protect their clothes by Monday the 25th September please? We are starting our Papier Mache Mexican Masks. These are part of our Art curriculum where we are looking especially at the Day of the Dead Festival. Gruesome and messy but fun!
Also, if you could send in any newspapers, we'd be very grateful.
Welcome to an exciting year as 5M at Booker Avenue Juniors.
Please find below a curriculum map showing the areas we will be looking at this term. Trips and visitors will be added as the term progresses. More information will appear on this page each week.
Parents' evenings are on the 27th and 28th of September. We will be handing lots of information out then. However, if you have any questions before then, please don't hesitate to ask either after school on the playground or make an appointment at the office.
