Booker Buddies

Social skills and friendship group

Booker Buddies was established in September 2016, as part of social and emotional development, to advance and enhance interpersonal skills, confidence building and friendships; to further improve children's emotional intelligence and well-being, promote resilience and a sense of belonging.

The group inspires a positive, calm and happy atmosphere. The children are encouraged to participate in short social skills activities before enjoying free time to interact with each other;

using board games, Lego, arts and crafts and books. These activities are essential to develop and encourage friendships, promote team building and enhance social and interpersonal skills.

Welcome to Booker Buddies

Welcome to our group

The children have been designing worry boxes and special memories boxes , to help manage their emotions. For every worry, they have to place a happy though on our ‘happy thoughts’ wall.

Special memories boxes are for the children to treasure and store their own special and happy memories.

Year 6 ‘Booker Buddies’ Lifestyles trip to Wavertree Aquatics centre

As part of Year 6 transition skills, the children from ‘Booker Buddies’ participated in a trip to Lifestyles in Wavertree. The children were shown how to use gym equipment safely, by a gym instructer. They were also taken to participate in outdoor activities.

The purpose of the trip, was to teach the children the benefits of physical activity; to promote and improve physical, mental and emotional well- being. They had a wonderful day! A big thank you to Lifestyles.
