Class 5M

Year five have been learning about the Second World War in History. Look at how much we have learned about how the war affected Liverpool in particular.

Some of the children brought in some very special artefacts from home and others made their own models.

Well done for all of the hard work!

Many apologies for the very late addition but here's some highlights from our Determination assembly. The video file of the song is too big but I'll happily copy the 'Bring it all Back' clip if you could send in a memory stick.

Enjoy!

We hope you enjoyed our class assembly on the Anglo-Saxons. We had a lot of fun researching, making iMovies and performing our scary Beowulf drama!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from 5M!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from 5M! 1

We have been studying the properties of materials.

We enjoyed many investigations including: waterproofing, thermal insulation, conductivity, magnetism and chromatography.

We explored reversible and irreversible changes and the water cycle.

One of our favourite experiments involved making carbon dioxide and collecting it in water balloons.

Check out our photographs below!

Welcome to Class 5M

Year Five loved the Maritime Museum.

We also got to welcome in the Tall Ships!

We enjoyed celebrating different families during Diversity week.

5M enjoyed Red Nose Day!

We have been studying Mexican Art including Papel Picado (perforated paper) and "Dia De Los Muertos" - Day of The Dead. Here are our masks!

Today is Safer Internet Day. The children enjoyed a very informative assembly taken by Mr Bell. During lessons, we spent time looking at the important issues regarding the children's on-line safety. Below are some useful links and documents for you to look at at home. The children created 'Pledges' or 'Good Deeds' in relation to making the Internet a safer place for the people in our community! Please ask your child about their pledge.

Here we are, hard at work!

Your child has been given a letter regarding our Year 5 trip to Liverpool's Metropolitan Cathedral in March. Please return the slip by Friday 6th March to book their place on the trip. Thanks.
