In our descriptive writing we have tried to use a music video to influence us and help us develop our skills. We used the video below for lots of deducing and inferring and this helped us to share our ideas about the story behind the music. We then spent a few days writing and editing our work to make it fit with the music.

Watch the video below to see what you think the song is about. How would you put the story into words?

THE PIANO

This term we have been studying Film Narrative and have based our work around a film called 'The Piano.' This is a very powerful film that has no dialogue or narration but has a beautiful story. Why don't you watch the film clip below and see what you think?

Do you interpret it in the same way we did?

WORLD BOOK DAY

Improvisation and role play

We have read chapter 1 of our story and have used our skills to act out different scenes. This helped us to explore Ayesha's feelings and emotions. It was quite hard to truly understand how she would be feeling.

 STORIES FROM OTHER CULTURES

Our new topic this term is focused around the following book:
We are very excited to start reading the book and find out what life was like for a child in the Lebanese Civil War.

It's Booker Prize time!

This week we are writing our short stories to be entered into our annual school competition.

The children have been provided with a story starter this year to get them started and have a 500 word limit.

Some of the ideas are fantastic so we look forward to sharing the finished stories with you soon.

The link below will bring you to the BBC's short story competition. Use this for ideas and inspiration and best of luck!! 📝📝👍🏼👍🏼
