Today’s lesson was based on tsunamis. We completed a range of activities to identify why they occur, how they happen and what impacts they have on people. We presented our work to the class.

Our latest natural disaster is volcanoes. We discussed the hazards they create and learnt about Pompeii. We used drama to explore what life was like as an eye witness to the eruption of Vesuvius and produced diary entries to describe the experience.

Today, we really enjoyed learning all about hurricanes.
We have been discovering why earthquakes take place. We shared what we found out by having a snowball fight. We now know all about tectonic plates, the Richter scale and seismographs.

We have started our new unit of work, natural disasters. We worked in groups to research a natural disaster and presented what we found out to the class. Why not ask us what we found out?
We have concluded our California unit with a piece of writing that shows off our knowledge about the state. We pretended that we have experienced a trip to California and described all the things that we saw there.
We have been researching California, pretending to be tourists. We used our research to plan a roadtrip to The Golden State.
We are all very enthused about our Autumn 1 topic, California. We have been learning about the North American continent and the states of The USA. We had great fun guessing which state was reperesented by each abbreviation. You can check out these below.
