Year 3 - 4

Progress evidence linked to learning outcomes

In year 3 the children have learnt to produce their own sequences, in time with a partner. They have planned simple sequences using a range of movements and balances. Learning to stay in time with their partner whilst learning how strength and suppleness affect performance.

In year 4, the children have developed their actions, balances and body shapes with control. They have planned, sequences that include changes of speed and level, clear shapes and quality of movement. Pupils have learnt to recognise criteria that leads to improvement, e.g. changing a level; watch, describe and suggest possible improvements to others' performances.

Year 6

In year 6 the children have the opportunity to create longer, more complex sequences, including changes of direction, level and speed. In the videos above you can clearly see the skill development and the ability to use various different levels of apparatus within their sequences.
