Skills Progression

Within each English lesson, pupils take part in Guided Reading. During these sessions, pupils will be exposed to a variety of texts, including fiction, non-fiction and poetry and they will take part in independent, group and teacher led tasks that all help develop their reading skills. Below are the Statutory Requirements for each year group so that you can see how your child's reading skills will develop throughout their time at Booker Avenue Junior School.
